ICSR center was a beehive of activity even from the afternoon of December 12, 2007. A number of meetings such as the IGS executive committee meeting of the new committee for 2007-2008 and the old committee of 2005-2006, the meeting of chairmen of local chapters and the organizing committee meeting of Asian Regional Conference – 2007 were held at the building from 3 pm onwards. The registration desk was functioning in full swing. This momentum continued during the next day also and the total number of delegates registered for the conference was 496.

There were 60 student delegates attending this conference.  The spot registration was close to 100
The response to the request of abstract was overwhelming and 287abstracts were received. 215 abstracts were selected for submission of full length papers. Number of papers for publication was decided based on the time available for presentation during the conference. 194 full length papers, 11 keynote papers and 15 invited papers were finally included in TWO volumes of the proceedings. The maximum number of papers were on the ground improvement (38) and almost equal response was there on the topics geoenvironmental engineering (16) and soil dynamics and earthquake engineering (20).
